Oftentimes we feel very comfortable in what we know.

Sometimes maybe even too comfortable.

This illustration was a testament to how important it is to leave it. I focused on the idea of the “comfort zone” which is that warm, familiar place we all love, but also the one that can quietly hold us back.

To bring…

…that feeling to life visually, I used some tools I hadn’t really used before, like pucker and bloat tool on Adobe Illustrator.

The illustration also shows how important it is to break out of that zone and it reflected the exact process I was going through while making it: pushing past creative habits, experimenting with new tools, and getting comfortable with discomfort.

I’ve always believed design should have purpose, and this piece was a reminder that the most meaningful work often comes when you lean into discomfort and keep learning.
